IMPLEMENTASI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE DISKURSUS MULTY REPRECENTATY (DMR) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SISWA SMA KELAS XI PADA MATERI GELOMBANG

Concept understanding is an important aspect of physics learning. However, many students still have difficulty in understanding abstract concepts, especially in wave material. This causes students to memorize more than actually understand the meaning of the concept. This study aims to determine the significant differences in students concept understanding through the application of the Discourse Multi Representation (DMR) type cooperative learning model on wave material. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, each totaling 36 students. The method used was quasi experiment with posttest only control group design. The data collection technique was carried out through giving instruments in the form of 15 multiple choice questions covering three indicators of concept understanding: translation, interpretation, and extrapolation. Descriptive research results showed that the experimental class obtained a higher average achievement than the control class, namely 85.92 with a very good category, while the control class obtained an average of 76.11 with a good category. Inferentially, the t-test results showed a significant difference between the two classes (p = 0.002 <0.05). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the DMR type cooperative learning model is effective in improving students' concept understanding on wave material in class XI of SMAN 7 PekanbaruReferences
