PENGARUH LATIHAN MODIFIKASI BOLA KARET TERHADAP TEKNIK DASAR SERVIS BAWAH BOLA VOLI
Abstract
The background of this study is the low ability of elementary school students in performing underhand volleyball serves, due to limited mastery of basic techniques and the use of training media that are not suitable for their age and physical abilities. This study employed an experimental approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 20 active members of the volleyball extracurricular program at SDN Sidangkasih, Kab. Ciamis, selected using total sampling. The instrument used was the serving accuracy test from the American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (AAHPER). Data were analyzed using the paired sample t-test with SPSS software. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a statistically significant improvement in students’ underhand serve performance after training using rubber ball modifications. The use of rubber balls, which are lighter and more flexible, proved to be more appropriate for elementary-level students, allowing them to practice basic techniques more effectively and with greater confidence. Therefore, training with modified rubber balls is considered an effective alternative media for teaching the underhand serve technique in volleyball at the elementary school level.
